Aquatic sources for the plant life
The storage begins with the roots. Some of the desert shrubs have very deep taproots and some have shallow roots , plants with taproots can suck up as much water as possible, and sometimes these roots can get to be more than 100 feet long. Plants that have shallow roots can branch out far and wide to soak up moisture from a great area or the slightest rainfall, and the roots can be as long as the plant is tall. Desert plants can soak up water, store it, and prepare using it during drought.
